Amazon's Frustration-Free Setup program enables you to connect supported smart devices to your eero network in a few easy steps.
What do I need for Frustration-Free Setup?
- A new device compatible with Frustration-Free Setup
- An existing second generation or newer Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick (2nd Generation), Fire TV Stick - Basic Edition, or Fire TV (3rd Generation) device in your home that is already connected to your network
- Your wifi password is saved to Amazon
- The eero App with your Amazon account linked
Frustration-Free Setup is enabled by default in the eero App as part of Amazon Connected Home. If you purchase a device from Amazon.com, the new device will try to join your wifi network automatically using Frustration-Free Setup. If you bought your device elsewhere or it didn't automatically join, open the Alexa app. Follow the Frustration-Free Setup instructions to complete setup with fewer steps.
How will devices know which wifi network is my network?
If you have already connected an Amazon device like a Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Kindle, or Echo device and chosen to store your password to Amazon, Frustration-Free Setup will recognize the account linked to your previous device. It will automatically connect your new compatible device using the same saved password. To learn more about saving your password to Amazon, visit Amazon's FAQ.
Do I need to purchase all devices on Amazon.com for Frustration-Free Setup to work?
No. When you purchase Frustration-Free Setup devices from Amazon.com using your Amazon account, the device is automatically added to your account. This association allows the device to access Frustration-Free Setup automatically to try to join your network. If you purchase a device compatible with Frustration-Free Setup from a different retailer, you can connect it to your network by following the instructions given in the Alexa app.
Is Frustration-Free Setup secure?
Yes. Frustration-Free Setup follows industry best practices for security. All devices are authenticated before any data is sent, and data is only sent in an encrypted form. Frustration-Free Setup will only use the passwords you have saved to Amazon to connect compatible Frustration-Free Setup-enabled devices you have purchased from Amazon.com or scanned with a 2D barcode.
