Common UK and Ireland ISP's and How to Set Up eero with Them

Setting up eero in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland is no different than setting it up elsewhere - you still need to have an internet connection delivered to your place by your service provider. Regardless if you have your eero purchased directly from the retail network or received from a partner, we’ve listed below some of the most common ISPs with their respective configurations.

Sky Broadband

Sky has a few different configurations, all of which are compatible with eero. You can find more information on that below:

Also, it might be helpful to understand the exact model of your Sky equipment. You can check this page to find that out, alongside the respective user guides.

TalkTalk

If you are using the TalkTalk services, you may have one of two types of connections into the home, a g fast modem or a fibre connection box (the technicians will call this the Optical Network Terminator or ONT).. Either way, setting up your eero follows the steps outlined in the following article:

BT

There are different setups with BT - the connection would be either FTTP and FTTC. With FTTP you can also use PPPoE (only for eero 6, eero Pro 6, eero Pro 6E and eero 6+ models) and connect the eero directly to the BT ONT. In order to do that you need to know your PPPoE username and password. You can get those directly from BT. If you encounter any problems with this type of setup, you can always contact eero support.

Virgin Media

Setting up eero with the Virgin Media hubs is pretty similar to most configurations out there since the hubs themselves allow for them to be put in Bridge mode (modem-only mode).

As per usual, you need to first connect your eero to the Virgin Hub via the Ethernet cable provided in the box. Follow the instructions from the eero app to complete the setup of the eero network.

If you find yourself in trouble with the above, please see the article below:

Vodafone

Setting up your eero network with Vodafone follows the same concept as with most other ISPs - you can find more info below: .

EE

The EE setup is similar to the configurations above - you can either Double NAT your eero network or put it in Bridge mode.

In both cases, it is very important to turn off the wireless signal of your EE hub, as it will cause some major interference with the eero Wi-Fi.
