How do I temporarily hide the 5 and 6 GHz bands?

eero uses a single network name (SSID) that allows devices to connect to the 2.4, 5, and, on supported networks, 6 GHz bands. This helps your devices move along eero's mesh efficiently.

Some wireless devices can only connect on 2.4 GHz. These devices need to connect directly to that frequency during first-time setup. If you're having trouble connecting one of these devices, you can temporarily pause the 5 and 6 GHz bands through the eero App. This forces your network to broadcast only on 2.4 GHz for up to 10 minutes, giving you time to connect the device.

To temporarily hide 5 and 6 GHz:

  1. Open the eero App, and tap Settings in the bottom-right corner
  2. Scroll to the bottom, and tap Troubleshooting
  3. Tap My device won’t connect
  4. Tap My device is 2.4 GHz only
  5. Tap Temporarily pause 5 and 6 GHz

Note: The 5 and 6 GHz bands will automatically re-enable after 10 minutes. To re-enable sooner, tap Cancel at the bottom of the screen.
