eero PoE 6 is powered via PoE (802.3af/at/bt) power sourcing equipment or an eero 15 W USB-C external power supply unit (sold separately).
Recommended network topology
If you have a PoE source, it must be connected to the outer port (marked “2.5”) which is the correct WAN port and the PoE input port. From there, connect additional eero nodes to powered Ethernet ports, keeping in mind each eero PoE 6 device requires 15.4 W of power budget at the output of a PoE Power supply equipment. Once plugged in, proceed to add the nodes through the eero App. a gateway eero must be upstream of the PoE switch between the Modem/ONT and the PoE switch. If the gateway eero is a PoE6 it will require a power source, (PoE Injector or 15.4w power adapter) Professional installation is recommended. See recommended topology below.
Special Note - if your network is in bridge mode already it is recommended that you put your network into Double NAT by disabling bridge mode , remove the old router and swap in the eero Gateway. Then set your upstream router back to bridge mode.
