Refer to the eero Business FAQ if you haven't already signed up for eero Business.
To set up a new business network, you'll first need to add the name of your business. A business name is an easy way to identify your network when you have more than one network with the same wifi name.
The business name can be the same or different from the network wifi name. Once the business name has been added, you can now set up the network.
How do I set up my network?
To set up your eero wifi network for the first time, follow the steps in our setup article.
What happens after I set up my network?
When eero Business is enabled, a guest network will be created by default for you to activate.
You can adjust these settings and set up additional business features such as multi SSIDs (Guest, Business and IoT networks) and Captive Portal. By enabling additional SSIDs, you'll have the ability to provide different types of network access to different users (for example, visitors, employees, business critical devices).
What's the difference between Main, Guest, Business and IoT Networks?
Main wifi Network
Your main network can be used for a variety of purposes. This network grants access to various types of users, devices, and systems.
Guest wifi Network (Captive Portal Network)
Guest wifi access can be separated from employee wifi access via a dedicated guest wifi network. This is suitable for guest devices. It's not recommended to use this wifi network for employee devices or devices that process financial transactions such as Point of Sale devices.
Note: The guest network should always be used to provide wifi access to third parties.
Business wifi Network
Using the business wifi network, any devices that process payments or financial transactions such as point of sales systems can be isolated from the rest of the network, preventing employees or guests from accessing payment or credit card data.
IoT (Internet of Things) wifi Network
eero's out of the box IoT wifi network lets businesses segregate their IoT and security devices, creating dedicated IoT control. This is suitable for security devices such as security cameras, alarm panels, sensors and other IoT devices needing to be secured or isolated from the rest of your network.
Note: While all wifi networks are isolated from each other, it's important to note that on the Guest and IoT networks, no two devices can talk to each other. This further enhances security of common types of devices that connect to guest and IoT networks.
