How do I connect a device that can't detect my eero network?

If your device can't detect your eero network, enable Legacy Mode in the eero App. This temporary solution helps devices with older wifi drivers connect to your network.

Why this happens

Some devices with older drivers or software cannot connect to networks with eero 6 or eero Pro 6. This commonly affects devices with certain Intel wireless adapters that support 802.11ac but have compatibility issues with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) routers. See Systems Using Intel® Wireless Adapters Supporting 802.11ac Not Displaying Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) Networks in Scan List of Available Networks

Though your Wi-Fi 6 network is running, affected devices won't detect or join the network. Update your device's drivers to resolve this permanently.

How to enable Legacy Mode

  1. Open the eero app and tap Settings
  2. Tap Troubleshooting
  3. Tap My device won't connect
  4. Tap My device can't detect Wi-Fi 6
  5. Toggle Legacy Mode on

Your device should now detect and join your eero network.

Note: Legacy Mode may reduce network speeds. After updating your device's drivers, turn off Legacy Mode to restore full performance.
