Setting Up eero with Virgin Media

 

Setting up eero with the Virgin Media hubs is pretty similar to most configurations out there since the hubs themselves allow for them to be put in Bridge mode (modem-only mode). 

 

As per usual, you need to first connect your eero to the Virgin Hub via the Ethernet cable provided in the box. Follow the instructions from the eero app to complete the setup of the eero network. 

 

Once ready, it is preferable to put the Virgin Hub in Bridge mode. Depending on your equipment, follow the instructions below: 

 

Hub 3 or Hub 4 

Make sure you are connected to the Hub before following these steps.

 

  1. Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser
  2. The password is printed on the bottom of the Hub
  3. Select Modem Mode on the left hand side of the screen
  4. Select the option next to Enable Modem Mode
  5. Select Apply changes

 

Note: Once in Modem Mode, the IP address you use to access the Hub changes from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.100.1.

Super Hub 1, 2 or 2ac

Make sure you are connected to the Super Hub 1, 2 or 2ac before following these steps.

 

  1. Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser
  2. The password is printed on the bottom of the Hub
  3. Select Super Hub Settings to see the Modem Mode section
  4. Select Enable Modem Mode
  5. Select Yes to continue. The Super Hub will reboot and activate Modem Mode

 

Note: Once in Modem Mode, the IP address you use to access the Super Hub changes from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.100.1

 

If for some reason you need to keep your Hub in Router mode, be sure to disable its Wi-Fi signal in order to avoid interference. Here is a detailed explanation on how to do that.
