Check the Internet row at the top of your eero app home screen. If you see a basic globe icon and "Internet," you have a retail network. If you see a different icon with "Provided by" underneath, you have an ISP provided network.
There are two types of eero networks: retail and Internet Service Provider (ISP) provided. When you have an ISP provided eero, all services and accessories must be acquired through your ISP. Sometimes, ISP provided eeros end up being resold on secondhand markets without permission, which will incorrectly associate your network with that ISP.
What are the different distribution channels for eeros?
Retail
Retail eeros are obtained from standard vendors such as Amazon, Best Buy, or eero.com. These eeros have transferable ownership rights and can be given to others without issue.
Note: eeros obtained from Pro Installers are usually sourced from retail channels and behave in the same manner.
Internet Service Providers (ISP)
ISP provided eeros are sold directly by eero to a partnered ISP. These eeros are considered the property of the organization that purchased them and should not be used outside of ISP-managed networks. If one or more ISP provided eeros are added to a network, additional services such as eero Plus and accessories like eero Signal must be procured directly through the ISP.
How can I tell if I have a Retail network?
You can see your network type in the eero App. To check your network type, look at the Internet row at the top of your home screen:
Retail network: Shows a globe icon next to "Internet" — your network is eligible for standard eero Signal and Plus offerings.
ISP provided network: Shows a different icon next to "Internet" with "Provided by [ISP name]" underneath — your network is associated with an ISP and eero Plus and eero Signal inquiries will need to be directed to your ISP.
If your network is incorrectly associated with an ISP, contact eero customer support.
