Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an eero Telephone Adapter?
eero Telephone Adapter is primarily designed for ISPs looking to augment any supported eero with voice ports to more easily provide end-customers with landline services. It is otherwise an optional accessory not required for all users.
What types of analog devices can I connect?
- Corded analog phones
- Cordless/DECT phone systems
- Analog fax machines
- Other analog telephone devices
Does eero Telephone Adapter require a separate network connection?
No. eero Telephone Adapter connects via USB-C to your eero device and utilizes your existing eero network. It does not require a separate network connection.
What happens during a power outage?
Since eero Telephone Adapter is powered by the eero it’s connected to, telephone service will be unavailable during a power outage unless your eero network and ISP connection both have backup power (such as a UPS or battery backup system).
What are the power requirements for eero Telephone Adapter?
The packaging for eero Telephone Adapter includes a 45W AC adapter that is sufficient to power both it and the eero it is connected to. Refer to the table below for a full description of power requirements for each eero:

Can I use both FXS ports simultaneously?
Yes. Both FXS ports (phone jacks) can be used simultaneously with separate telephone lines, each with its own SIP profile configuration.
What type of power supply is needed for the eero Telephone Adapter?
The included 45W power supply will work universally to power both the adapter and connected eero. However, for eero 6, eero 6+, and eero 7 a 27W supply is sufficient. For eero Pro 6, eero Pro 6E, and eero Pro 7, a 27W supply is sufficient only after the eero has already been updated to 7.15.0 (earlier versions will result in eero flashing orange).
Is there a maximum ring spec?
eero Telephone Adapter supports up to 5 REN (Ringer Equivalence Number)
