Setting Up eero with TalkTalk

If you are using the TalkTalk services, you may have one of two types of connections into the home, a g fast modem or a fibre connection box (the technicians will call this the Optical Network Terminator or ONT).

TalkTalk Full Fibre: How to set up your Amazon eero 6 or eero Pro 6

You can find below the general steps to take when setting up eero with TalkTalk: 

 

1. Remove your old router

Unplug the Ethernet cable and your old router from the gfast modem or Fibre connection box (ONT).

 

2. Download the eero app and create your eero account

Download the app from the Apple app store or from the Google play store. Then follow the on-screen instructions to create your own eero account. You can also use your Amazon account to do that. 

 

3. Connect the eero 

Connect your eero to the gfast modem/fibre connection box with the Ethernet cable supplied. Then, connect eero to the power socket and turn on.

Important: Don't power off your modem at any point. We know the app says to do this, but for the best experience, don't!

 

4. Setup your eero

Follow the easy in-app instructions to complete your set up. Again, do not power off your modem/ONT prior this step, disregard the app instructions. 

 

5. Connect your devices

Find your eero network on your device, enter the network password you created, and connect. Good job, you are ready to go! 

 

FAQ and common issues

Help! I follow the steps above and still can’t get my eero running

Make sure that your internet connection from the fibre connection box is online - you can easily check that by wiring a device to it and testing if you are able to browse the web. If that also proves impossible, then you might want to check with TalkTalk to see how things are looking on their end. 

I am not seeing any improvement

How should I setup my additional units - should I repeat the setup process from the start ?

No, eero is designed in a way that allows you to easily add or remove units from your network. To add an extra eero, simply: 

  1. Open your eero app
  2. Tap the blue plus icon in the top right of your screen
  3. Now tap Add or Replace eero Devices
  4. Choose Add eero Device
  5. Follow the in-app instructions to add the eero to your network
