What device information can I see with eero?

The eero App shows detailed information about every device connected to your network, including connection status, activity, IP addresses, and security settings. View all connected devices on the Home and Devices tabs. Tap a device to open its Device page and see more details.

Device details

Appearance

Each device has a name and symbol showing what type of device it is. Tap the device's name or symbol to open the Appearance page, where you can assign a nickname and change its symbol. This helps identify devices more easily, especially when used with Profiles.

Profile

Tap Profile to assign devices to specific profiles. This helps organize devices by user and control content access with eero Plus.

Connected to

Shows which eero your device is currently connected to and which wifi frequency it's using (2.4, 5, or 6 GHz).

Activity

Shows live download and upload speeds for your device. Tap Activity to view recent data usage statistics and identify devices using large amounts of data.

Reservation & port forwarding

Some devices need port forwarding rules for certain features to work. Tap Reservation & port forwarding to configure these settings. 

IP addresses

Shows the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses assigned to the device by your network.

Device information

  • Security: Shows the wifi authentication protocol your device uses. eero uses WPA2-PSK by default, with WPA3 support for newer devices.
  • Manufacturer: Identifies unknown devices by their manufacturer (Apple, Samsung, Intel, Amazon, etc.).
  • Hostname: Shows the default name of the device. Some products display a familiar name, while others may show a name assigned by the manufacturer.
  • MAC address: Every device has a Media Access Control (MAC) address, a unique identifier for your hardware on your network.
