Does eero support Matter?

Matter is a smart home protocol that connects compatible smart devices and systems with one another. It was developed to ensure that all smart home devices, systems, and voice assistants speak the same language.

With Alexa and eero, Matter-enabled devices work seamlessly alongside other devices you already own without reconfiguring devices currently set up in your home. You can feel confident that your smart home devices will work together, regardless of the brand. Plus, Alexa Routines and Alexa Hunches can add extra convenience to your day-to-day activities by automatically taking actions for you, such as adjusting the thermostat when you leave, or turning off the lights when you go to bed.

Note: eero supports Matter as a controller only.

How do I connect my eero to Alexa as a Matter controller?

To activate your built-in Matter Smart Home Hub, link your eero and Amazon accounts in the eero App. After linking, your Matter smart home hub will be enabled. Connect compatible Matter devices with Alexa using the Alexa app or a setup voice command to any compatible Echo connected to your eero wifi network. You can then control Alexa-enabled Matter devices with your voice and set up different Alexa scenes, such as creating themed lighting colors for your living room or schedules to automate your home.
