What is eero Insight?

eero Insight is a specialized web portal that allows you to manage your Business Network. If you’d like to learn more about eero for Business please click here.

Who can access eero Insight?

eero Insight can only be accessed by Business Network Owners with an eero for Business subscription.  Users who are network admins will not have access to the application. 

How do I access eero Insight on my Desktop?

To login to Insight from the Web you may go to insight.eero.com and use your eero account credentials to login.  

 

You may also access Insight through our mobile app by following these steps:

  1. Download the eero app from either the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store.
  2. Login to your account using either your Linked Amazon Account or the email address associated with your eero account.
    • If you have more than one network, select the appropriate business network.
  3. You can now manage your business network via Insight by navigating to Settings>Access eero Insight.

What can I do in eero Insight?

eero Insight allows you to:

  • View Network Status
  • View eeros on the network.
  • View connected device information
  • Manage profiles
  • View Users
  • View Network Analysis Dashboards such as Reboots, Chanel Utilization and Thermal Analysis
  • View Network Activity such as Speed Tests and Bandwidth Usage. 
  • Setup your multiple wireless SSIDs on your business network (up to 4) 
  • Set up and upload Captive Portal images and ToS.

How to enable multiple SSIDs.

From eero insight:

  1. Click on ‘Business Settings’
  2. Click on ‘Add WiFi Network’
  3. Choose either ‘Business WiFi’ or ‘IoT WiFi
  4. Enter your new WiFi Name and Password
  5. Click Save

You may also enable/disable your WiFi networks by clicking on the network and siding the enabled slide to off.

How to upload your own Captive Portal logo or terms from the app.

  1. Open the eero app.
  2. If you have multiple business networks, select the one you wish to work with. 
  3. Ensure Enable guest wifi network and Enable captive portal are toggled on. 
  4. Tap Edit captive portal.
  5. Select a Session duration.
    • Note: This can be set in increments of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes or a maximum of 24 hours.
  6. Tap Captive portal logo.
  7. Upload a logo that will be displayed to your visitors on your captive portal.
    • Your logo should be 200x200px minimum resolution, a PNG, JPG, or JPEG file, and 5MB maximum. We recommenced uploading an image with no margins and a transparent background to allow you to easily switch between light and dark mode. 
  8. You have the option to Choose File or select an image from your Photo Library. 
  9. Browse your Files or Photo Library and select the logo you would like to utilize within our captive portal. 
  10. Once your logo has been uploaded, you can remove, replace or view the file. 

To upload custom terms of use: 

  1. Open the eero app.
  2. If you have multiple business networks, select the one you wish to work with. 
  3. Ensure Enable guest wifi network and Enable captive portal are toggled on. 
  4. Tap Edit captive portal.
  5. Tap Custom terms of use and enable it
  6. Import a terms file from your file library. Please note that only .txt files are supported at this time. 
  7. Click save.

How to upload your own Captive Portal from the web.

  1. Navigate to insight.eero.com in your favorite web browser.
  2. Sign in with the email linked to your eero for Business account.
    • If you use an amazon linked login method, please refer to the mobile app instructions above.
  3. If you have multiple networks, select the one you wish to work with.
  4. Scroll down to ‘Business Settings’
    • You can also click on it in the left hand navigation menu.
  5. Click on “edit” in the Captive Portal section
  6. Click on “Click to Upload” under logo
    • You may also upload a custom ToS by clicking the box next to ‘Upload Custom ToS’

*Please note that Captive Portal Images should be in the minimum resolution of 200x200px as a 5 MB or less PNG, JPG, and JPEG file formats. 

 

Visitor Engagement

The Visitor Engagement dashboard will allow business owners to view a summary of visitor engagement on their eero for Business guest network. The dashboard will display visitor trends over time, popular days, and peak hours within a 90 day timeframe.

How to set up the Visitor Engagement dashboard

In order to set up the visitor engagement dashboard, the Captive Portal needs to be enabled first. To do this:

  • Navigate to Settings > Network Settings within eero Insight
  • Locate the Captive Portal Block
  • Select Edit
  • Enable Captive Portal
    • On this page you can choose a duration, upload a logo, input information for your customers to view in regards to the Guest Network, and capture visitor information.
  • To enable the Visitor Engagement dashboard:
    • Ensure the ‘Name and Email’ box is checked under ‘Additional visitor information’
    • Once these conditions have been met, the Visitor engagement dashboard should be visible and start collecting visitor information. Information prior to this feature being turned on is not collected and will not be visible.

Note: The dashboard does not display data in real time. Data will be updated and become available at the end of day (12am in current timezone).

 

Visitor Engagement Dashboard Breakdown:

Time Interval selection

This drop down allows the user to choose the time interval they would like to view. The options available are:

  • 7 days
  • 30 days
  • 90 days

 

Export visitor information

This clickable button will allow the user to export available information up to 90 days in CSV format.

 

Visitors over time

This graph shows the number of visitors over a selected time frame. The bar graph shows both unique visitors and repeat visitors, and each bar can be selected to show the breakdown between each group.

  • Unique visitors are determined by information provided by the visitor when connecting to the network. New devices will show as a unique visitor if they meet the criteria for a unique combination of name, email and device mac address.
  • Repeat visitors are users who provided the same information with the same connected device and connected to the network on multiple days.

 

Popular days

This graph shows the average number of visitors per day of the week and will highlight the days of the week with the most traffic.

 

Popular times

This graph shows the peak hours usage in tandem with the most popular days.
