eero Plus Content Filters

Keeping your network protected from outside threats is important, but it's just as crucial to keep everyone on your network safe from unsuitable content online. eero Plus helps eliminate worry here.

eero Plus customers can turn on Content Filtering options within Family Profiles. You can enable these services for each individual profile, and the selected filters will apply to all devices under that profile.

We've recently added more content filter categories (like Shopping, Social Media, Chat and Messaging, Streaming, and YouTube Restricted) to give you more granular parental controls. You can also quickly set up filters with preset filter levels (like Pre-K, Pre-Teen, Teen, and Adult).

How do I disable content filters?

On the Content Filters page for a given profile, toggle off the content categories one at a time to disable content filtering for all devices associated with that profile.

What happens when someone tries to access a blocked site?

A device associated with a profile with content filters active that attempts to access a blocked website will either be directed to blocked.eero.com or display a generic blocked message.

What if a site that should be blocked isn't or vice versa?

We're always improving the categorization of sites used by content filters. If you believe a site should be blocked but isn't or vice versa, you can:

  • Use the Block & Allow Sites feature to add the website to the blocked list if it should have been blocked, or add it to the allowed list if the site was blocked incorrectly
  • Report an inaccuracy on the blocked.eero.com page
  • Contact Support to further investigate

How can I view content filter insights in the app?

If a device with content filtering set to active attempts to visit a blocked website, the content filters graph will display the profile name, device nickname, and content category. To view these insights in the eero app:

  1. Tap on the Activity tab
  2. Tap Content Filters, then tap the name of the desired profile
  3. You can view the aggregated data by day, week, or month

How often do content filter graphs update?

The data will update within an hour of an attempt to access blocked content.
