How do I transfer network ownership?

You can transfer your network's ownership to another person using the eero App. Once transferred, you'll no longer have access to the network. The wifi name, password, and all connected devices remain the same. The new owner can see the network name, password, device nicknames, and Profiles from their eero App.

Note: This feature is for transferring networks between users and does not replace internet service provider (ISP) or Pro Installer network setup procedures.

Does my eero Plus or eero Business subscription transfer to the new network owner?

eero subscriptions do not transfer with ownership of the network. We encourage you to cancel any eero subscription you have before transferring network ownership to someone else. Subscription settings on the network are accessible and applied based on the new owner's subscription. The new owner will be responsible for managing any eero Plus or eero Business subscription for the network.

How do I transfer a network?

You can transfer the network by:

  • Copying and sending a link to the new owner
  • Sharing a QR code for them to scan

QR codes are valid for 48 hours and can only be used once. You can cancel a pending invite. If the transfer is rejected, expired, or canceled, you'll need to create a new QR code.

Note: This feature requires eero App version 6.14.1 or later.

Instructions to initiate a network transfer:

  1. Create a new network, or open the eero App, and locate an existing network
  2. Tap the Settings tab
  3. Tap More options button (three dots) in the top-right corner
  4. Tap Transfer network
  5. Review the information shown, and tap Transfer network again when ready
  6. Tap Yes to confirm
  7. A pop-up will appear with a QR code that can be scanned by the new network owner to accept the transfer
  8. Alternatively, tapping and holding the QR code will copy a link that can be sent instead

How do I receive a network transfer via shared link?

  1. Create an eero account via the eero App
  2. Tap the link from the original network owner
  3. Tap Accept on the pop-up
  4. Follow the instructions to accept ownership of the network

How do I receive a network transfer via QR code?

  1. Create an eero account via the eero App
  2. Scan the QR code from the original network owner
  3. Tap Accept on the pop-up
  4. Follow the instructions to accept ownership of the network
