BT hubs cannot be put in bridge mode. You can set up eero with BT using Double NAT or by putting your eero network in bridge mode.
Note: Double NAT is required if you use BT Phone services.
How do I set up Double NAT with BT?
To set your network up in Double NAT, connect it to the Ethernet port of the BT Hub and follow the in-app instructions. Then disable the Wi-Fi on the BT Hub.
Here's how to turn Wi-Fi on and off on the BT Smart Hub:
- Open a web browser on a device connected to your Hub and type 192.168.1.254 in the address bar to open the Hub Manager
- Tap Advanced Settings
- Tap Wireless
- Enter the admin password (find the default password on your Hub settings card on the back of your Hub, or use the password override feature if you've changed it)
- Set the Wireless switch to ON or OFF to turn Wi-Fi on or off for both bands
- Tap Save
Note: The steps above refer to most BT Hubs. If you need help turning off the Wi-Fi signal, contact the BT support team.
After disabling the Wi-Fi, keep your configuration as Double NAT, or put your eero network in bridge mode if needed.
Can I use PPPoE with BT?
BT offers two setup types: FTTP and FTTC. With FTTP, you can use PPPoE and connect your eero directly to the BT ONT.
To use PPPoE, you need your PPPoE username and password from BT.
