Check your device's connection strength in the eero App by viewing the status bars next to each device on the Devices tab. Connection strength shows how reliably your device connects to your wifi network.
As a device gets farther from the nearest eero, its connection weakens. Internet speeds decrease, videos and websites take longer to load, and you may eventually lose connection completely.
What do the connection symbols mean?
In the eero App, each connected device has a symbol representing how it connects to your network:
Wired: The device is hardwired to an eero using Ethernet.
Wireless: The device is connected using wifi.
To see which eero or wifi frequency a device is using, tap on the device’s name in the Devices tab.
Connection strength indicators
When on a wireless network, the strength of your device's connection to the eero network is represented in up to 4 status bars:
4 bars: Excellent, stable connection with maximum speeds.
3 bars: Good, stable connection with near-maximum speeds.
2 bars: Acceptable connection, but you may experience buffering or slower speeds.
1 bar: Poor connection with slower speeds, buffering, and interruptions. Move your device closer to the nearest eero.
0 bars: No connection. Move your device closer to the nearest eero to reconnect.
Devices with 1-2 bars should automatically roam to the closest eero as you move. If devices consistently show low connection strength, run a Coverage Scan in the app.
