Linking your eero network to your Amazon account (which can you do by linking your eero account and Amazon account, or by using your Amazon credentials to login in to the eero app, also called Amazon Login) makes interacting with your network and smart devices even easier by supporting features like eero Built-in, Amazon Frustration-Free Setup and Zigbee Smart Home Hub. If you purchase an eero subscription through Amazon.com (or an Amazon country site), in order to activate and use the eero subscription you will be required to link your eero network to your Amazon account.
How do I unlink my Amazon Account?
You can unlink your account any time in the eero app under the Settings tab (although if you want to stop using Amazon Login, you will need to delete your current eero account and create a new one).
- If you purchased your eero subscription through Amazon.com (or an Amazon country site), then if you unlink your Amazon account from your eero network, you will lose access to the eero subscription.
What is shared between eero and Amazon to support features that require account linking?
eero and Amazon may use information from your accounts to support features that require account linking, and as otherwise described in eero’s Privacy Notice and Amazon’s Privacy Notice.
Here is an example of what may be shared between eero and Amazon to support features that require account linking:
- The name and email address associated with your Amazon account, for uses consistent with eero and Amazon’s privacy notices
- Wifi network name(s), wifi password(s), Thread network identifiers, Thread network password(s) and key(s) for fast device onboarding.
- Currently connected device information, such as device nicknames and signal strength, to enable eero Built-In and sync Amazon device nicknames.
- Configuration to maintain low-power smart home networks, such as Zigbee, so you can use Alexa to control supported devices the way you want
- If you purchase an eero subscription from Amazon.com (or an Amazon site for a different country), information related to such subscription to assist with customer support (including activation assistance and cancellation requests)
Why are my credentials synced?
Syncing wifi and Thread credentials helps customers more easily add wifi and Thread devices to their eero network using Amazon’s Frustration-Free Setup and Matter Simple Setup technology. Syncing credentials helps eero and supported Amazon products, like supported Echo devices, merge into a single, shared Thread mesh network to help improve range and reliability. See What is Thread? for more general information about Thread networking.
Can I disable credential syncing?
Credential syncing can be disabled in the eero mobile app.
- Open the app
- Tap the Settings tab and select Network Settings.
- Select Amazon Connected Home.
- Under Easy device setup, tap Frustration-Free Setup and toggle off.
To delete credentials currently being stored with Amazon, visit Amazon’s Manage Your Content and Devices.
You must perform both of these actions if you wish to delete stored credentials and stop future credential sharing.
