Mobile App Overview

The eero App is packed with features designed to increase your ability to quickly and easily manage your home network without the need to remember complicated login schemes to make changes to your router settings, while also keeping you mobile by storing all relevant information on your mobile device. 

Whether using the app to quickly add a device to your network, troubleshoot connectivity problems, or just reminding yourself what your password is, you can do it all, and much more, using the App. 

The app is divided into four major sections: Home, Devices, Activity, and Settings. Each section contains its own features and subpages designed to assist you with different aspects of your network. Read on to learn more about each section and the various features that are included with the eero App.

App: Home

The Home page of the app provides a summary of your network status, as well as quick access to a variety of vital functions. 

Key features of the Home screen include connection status indicators for your network and each eero, quick access to your profiles, a summary of the devices currently connected to the network, and easy access to services such as eero Plus.

Network Name: The top of the page is where you will find the network name, as well as the nickname if one has been set. To the right of the network name, the blue “+” button can be used to add a device to the network.


Connection Status: An internet connection status indicator will notify you of any potential problems with your connection in real time. Here, you will also find the locations and connection status for each of the eeros on your network. If you have any Amazon Echo devices with eero built-in enabled, they will be listed here as well.

Notification Cards: New and relevant information about your network will be displayed via notification cards on the home screen. You can check here first for network updates, new features, and other related topics.

Profiles: The Home page allows you to view each profile currently associated with your network, and also lets you add more profiles as needed. You can tap on a profile to learn more about the devices associated with that profile, including any devices that are currently paused, as well as set and edit profile access schedules.

Devices: The Home page will display a summary of all currently and recently connected devices, and includes a link to the “Devices” tab for more information. This section also displays information about devices that have recently connected to the network for the first time, allowing quick access to their information for further review.

Security & privacy: Access to additional services and features offered by eero can be found by scrolling down to the “Security & privacy” section of the Home page. Here, you can access premium eero Plus features such as Ad Blocking, content filtering, and more. 

If you are a business/enterprise user, you will be able to access your eero for Business features here as well.

 



App: Devices

The Devices tab contains a complete list of all devices currently or recently connected to any network that you own.

 In addition to a general summary of the devices that are currently associated with your network, you can also obtain more detailed information for each device.

Device Search: You can use the Device Search feature to quickly locate any device on your network. You can also use the included filters to sort devices according to your preferences. If you have multiple networks, you can filter your device view to show devices from a specific network. You can filter devices based on the following criteria:

  • Network profile
  • Connected eero
  • Device type
  • Connection status
  • Device connection type

eero Built-in capable: Any connected devices that have eero Built-in capability will be listed here. You can enable eero Built-In to extend your WiFi coverage, and disable any active Built-In devices. For more information on eero Built-In, see How to get started with eero Built-in.

Online device: The Devices tab contains a list of active devices currently connected to the network. An icon will indicate the connection type for the device. Tapping on the arrow to the right of the icon will provide more detailed information on the device, such as the MAC address, IP address, and other additional information.

Recently Online: Devices that are currently offline and/or disconnected from the network will appear here for up to seven days, at which point they will be removed from the list. As with online devices, you can tap on the arrow to the right to access more detailed information about the device. 

 



App: Activity

The activity center is where you will find information about your network’s performance, from speed to data usage. Subscribers to eero Plus will also find current and historical data for our advanced security and ad blocking services.

Additionally, the Activity tab is home to the Events feature, which is a searchable historic log of recent activity on your network.

Upload/Download Info: The top of the Activity tab provides statistics on your network’s upload and download speed. Fastest speed results are shown at a glance, while tapping on each will pull up a detailed list of the last 30 speed tests performed, and their results.

Downloaded/Uploaded Data: You can view the total monthly data that has been uploaded and downloaded here. Tapping on each will pull up a detailed breakdown of data usage by day, as well as by device. This is useful for identifying devices that are using a potentially excessive amount of data.

Security: eero Plus users will be able to access detailed statistics on their network’s security scan history here. Tapping on “Scans” will provide a list of devices that have been scanned, as well as the number of scans performed on those devices. If there are any threats to your network security, you can tap on “Threat Blocks” to find more information.

Privacy & Safety: eero Plus users can also use the Activity tab to access detailed information on blocked ads and filtered content. Tapping on Ad Blocks will display a list of devices that have had ads blocked in the past X days. Tapping on Content Filters will show a list of times when browsing requests were blocked by content filters, in addition to what device(s) triggered the block, and what filter was activated.

Recent events: The Activity tab also provides an up-to-date listing of all recent activity on your network, allowing you to review and examine changes and new devices as they happen. Everything from software updates to devices connecting or disconnecting from the network will be listed here.

 



App: Settings

The Settings page is where you’ll manage all of the “under the hood” aspects of your network, from configuring the network’s DHCP range to managing IP reservations. The Settings page is designed to be as comprehensive as possible, and can be updated in real time, as with the rest of the network.

 

You will also be able to use other options within the Settings page to troubleshoot potential problems with your network, from diagnosis to resolution. You will also be able to find information about your app’s installation version, as well as your network’s current firmware version.

Network Information: Quickly access your network’s name (SSID), password, time zone, and more by using the options at the top of the Settings tab. You can also set a nickname for your network, helping you to keep track of which eero network you’re connected to if you have more than one installed in other locations.

Settings and more: Customize every aspect of your network, from the IP addresses it assigns to enabling features like uPnP. You can also add additional admin users to allow more people to control your network as needed. Information on available software updates, as well as optional toggles for enabling or disabling notifications sent by the app can be found here as well.

Troubleshooting: Use a variety of troubleshooting solutions to resolve problems with your network, such as device connectivity or network speed. You can also access additional resources to educate yourself about aspects of the eero hardware, such as the meaning behind its LED colors. Account settings: View your current eero account login information, including options to link your eero account to an existing Amazon account. If you’re using an eero account, you can also make changes to your email address or phone number, and verify your account information.
