The eero App empowers you to make on-the-fly changes to your home network. In the Settings tab, you can adjust any aspect of your network, from its name and password to the IP addresses it assigns to devices.
The Settings tab is located in the bottom-right corner of the app. Tapping a category in the Settings page takes you to a separate page with more information.
While all standard settings in the app can be adjusted as necessary, some settings, such as the DHCP configuration, are only editable when the network is not in bridge mode. Additionally, the Dynamic DNS (DDNS) setting is only available to eero Plus subscribers.
Tapping the (more options icon) in the top-right corner gives you the following options:
- Transfer network to transfer ownership of your eero network to someone else
- Switch network to view another network you own or administer
- Create a network to set up a new network under your eero account
How do I change my wifi name and password?
You can view or update your wifi name (SSID) or password in this setting. You can also share these details through QR code, SMS, or direct message.
To view or update your wifi name and password:
- Open the eero App, and tap Settings
- Tap Wifi name & password
- To update them, enter a new wifi name and/or password, then tap Save in the top-right corner
- To share your credentials, tap Share QR code or Share wifi details
Note: Changing your network SSID and/or password will disconnect any previously connected devices from your network, and you will need to reconnect using the updated information.
How do I set up a guest network?
You can create a separate wifi network for guests that keeps them isolated from your main network. This guest network uses a different wifi name, and all devices connected to it are completely separated from your main network.

How do I change my network nickname and timezone?
You can assign an easily recognizable nickname to your network and set your timezone. Network nicknames are especially helpful if you have multiple networks in different locations that have the same SSID. Your network will automatically adjust relevant settings (such as scheduled pauses on user profiles) based on your selected timezone.
To set your network's timezone:
- Open the eero App, and tap Settings
- Tap Nickname & location
- Tap the Timezone box
- Select the desired timezone. This setting will save automatically
Where can I find advanced networking settings?
You can adjust technical settings and networking features in the Advanced networking page. This includes settings like DHCP configuration, DNS settings, port forwarding, and more.
To access these settings, tap Advanced networking from the Settings tab. See What are the Advanced networking settings? for detailed explanations of each setting.
Note: Adjusting certain settings in the Advanced networking page will require a network reboot before they can be applied to the network.
How do I manage user permissions?
You can view and manage all users who have administrator-level access to your network. By default, the creator of the account is the administrator. You can add additional users as administrators, giving them the ability to adjust most network settings.
To manage user permissions, tap User permissions from the Settings tab. For more information on user admins, see eero Multi-Admin.
How do I update my eero software?
You can check the current version of eero OS installed on your network and manually install available updates. Tap Software updates to view your current version and check for updates.
If a software update is available but you don't manually install it, the network will automatically update overnight. See eeroOS Updates for more details.
How do I change the app appearance?
You can change the color theme of the eero App from light mode to dark mode. Tap Appearance to select your preferred theme. If you select Use system default, the theme will match that of the device you're using.
How do I manage notifications?
You can enable or disable notifications that the app sends to your device. This includes notifications about new devices that have joined your network, available updates, and online status.
To manage notifications, tap Notifications from the Settings tab. Visit our eero App notifications article to see all the notifications you can control.
What troubleshooting tools are available?
You can access several tools to diagnose and resolve network issues. If you're experiencing issues such as difficulty connecting a new device, your network is offline, or your internet is slow, the Troubleshooting page offers solutions.
Available tools include:
- Coverage Scan to measure the strength of your devices' wireless connection
- eero Upgrade Report to see if your network would benefit from an upgrade
How do I manage my account settings?
You can review and make changes to your eero account, including your email address, phone number, and email preferences. You can also manage your existing eero Plus subscription or purchase a new subscription.
To access these options, tap Account settings from the Settings tab. This article provides more detail about your account settings.
Where can I find app and legal information?
The About page contains details about your app's current software version as well as legal information concerning the eero hardware and software. Tap About from the Settings tab to view this information.
